Brazilian Cherry is often referred to as Jatoba and
believe it or not isn't even related to the Black Cherry Tree. Most of
the Brazilian Cherry Wood comes from South America and provides
woodworkers with another wonderful hardwood.
It's not hard to find stair building parts, treads,
balusters, banisters, newels and other handrail parts made from
Brazilian Cherry.
According to some stair builders and wood working professionals, Jatoba
(Brazilian Cherry Wood) is one of the hardest woods available on the
market today.
