A closed stairway is when you can't view the edges of the
stair stringers from the sides of the stairs. The stair stringers will
need to be enclosed by some type of wall. (See picture below)
It's hard to imagine how many names they have in the
construction business for similar products, designs or building methods.
A closed stairway is the opposite of an open stairway, but could also be
referred to by other names.
