| A tall
straight growing tree that provides plenty of lumber used for building
homes throughout most western areas of the United States. Most
construction standard lumber used in Southern California is Douglas Fir.
Looking back over the three decades I worked in
construction, I can only think of two types of wood that I used, Douglas
Fir and Hem Fir. I use plenty of plywood, along with a little bit of Hem
Fir, but most of the wood I used, came from these giant trees.
