The easement is the measurement from your house perimeter
to the property lines, surrounding your home. In the picture below, the
wood fence on the right is sitting directly on top of the property line
that separates each homeowner's property.
What kind of problems could you expect from property
easements and stairway construction?
Sometimes, exterior stairways could protrude into these easements. If
you're planning on building a large deck on the outside of your home,
make sure that your stairs, aren't located in these areas.
If you're planning on designing a house, room addition or exterior deck
with a stairway, you should be aware of your property easements.
