Hot Dipped Galvanized - Building Hardware

Hot dipped galvanized building hardware is a process used by home building manufacturers, to create long lasting metal products. The picture below provides you with an excellent example of a hot dipped galvanized nail that can be used for exterior siding and wood trim installation.

There are plenty of different nails on the market today, but when I first started working in the construction industry, we used hot dipped galvanized 8-d nails. These nails were rough around the edges, providing us with additional holding power, for our stair risers and treads.

Construction Nailing Tips : Even though they had ring shank and drive screw nails, back when I first started, they seem to be more commonplace today. If you're looking for a good nail, with good holding power, for your stair treads or floors, ring shank nails work good, but drive screw nails work the best.

Drive screw nails could also be referred to as spiral shank nails, because they look like they've been twisted.

Hot dipped galvanized metal and galvanized metal products, will provide you with a long-lasting fastener or connector. Home builders have been using these products for years.
