Long stairs are built from logs that haven't been
processed through a lumber mill and still have the exterior shape of the
tree, on at least one side. The picture below provides you with the
perfect example of a log stairway.
Can You Have A Log Home Without Using Long Stairs?
Of course you can, there is no general rule of thumb, stating that you
can only use logs to build a staircase in a log cabin or log home. As a
matter of fact, I really don't like the look of log staircases and I've
only seen a few of them that were architectural masterpieces. Keep in
mind, I've never even worked on a log home, but I still had to throw my
two cents in.
