Measure Bottom Stringer For Concrete Floor

In this picture we are holding our tape at 2 - 5/8 inches on the first tread or the bottom tread. We have to subtract for our treads ( 1 - 1/8 thick cut from 1 - 1/8 inch plywood ) and our treated lumber which is 1 - 1/2 inch thick. Adding the two numbers up we get 2 - 5/8 inches. By holding our tape measure at the top of the first tread as shown in the picture above we can mark a parallel line at   7 - 1/4 inches.

I do it this way so I can double check my bottom stringer measurement.

Feel Free to subtract the measurement from your tape and measure 4 - 5/8 inches for your bottom  stair stringer height.
