Concrete Stairs With Bolt on Metal Handrailing

Here's a great example of an outdoor concrete stairs with bolt on metal handrail. This is a common stair used in an apartment or condominium complex. As you can see the set of stairs was built and then the handrail was bolted into the concrete. This can be done two different ways.

The first way would be to install the metal studs in the concrete as you were pouring the set of stairs. This way provides an excellent support system for the metal handrail.

The second way is to pour the concrete stairs and let them dry for a few weeks while gaining strength in the concrete. Then you'll mark and drill the hole's necessary to eproxy the metal studs used to bolt the handrailing system to the stairs. This is of course the easier way.
